DEFAMED: MC Rad
I’d just like to bring to your attention the most disappointing rise and fall of a local promoter. Follow me here. When I first started paying attention, he was going strong with a popular 80’s night at A.K.A Lounge, wrecked his image in my mind when he started promoting for Rockstar Karaoke, and when you thought he couldn’t get any lower than Voyage nightclub, Matt proved the almost impossible and began posting flyers for Chillers, Big Belly Brewery, and Latitudes.
Definition: Anyone who sacrifices artistic integrity in an effort to become more successful or popular ; someone who forgets their roots.
Now the word "sellout" has always been linked to some things such as bands changing their music to sign a contract with a record label for more money. Which I always thought was maybe true but a little unfair, because I know that many of us would do the same thing to be millionaires. I’m willing to bet that Matt is not a millionaire right now. But I couldn't think of anything better to describe a sellout than a promoter who decides to promote for any bar on Church Street.
With all that said, I really didn’t want to Defame him, because he is a genuine nice guy. But when I arrived on his myspace page, the plain White T’s “Hey there Delilah” song started playing and that really was just the last straw for me.
